First, more Camilla Lackberg author photos, please–preferably with that goofball (i.e. Husband) cropped out because he’s ruining the fantasy for me! Second, I liked how you slyly worked that Hamlet quote into your post. Very subversive! Have you seen the Danish TV series The Killing? The first season (remade for American TV under the same title but unseen by me in its probably embrrassing US version) is a 20-episode police procedural about a horrific crime being investigated by a male/female cop duo headed by one Sarah Lund.

It was so juicy (and well-acted) that it put me in the mood for some good Scandinvian crimeor a visit to Copenhagen, whichever comes first.

I have just found the work of Camilla – books one and two have been ‘consumed’. Now I have to cross town to get book three from the city library as I dare not read book four beforehand.

I will miss the back stories of the birth of Erica and Patrick’s child and why has Erica’s sister Anna moved back in with her violent husband. It is these back stories so cleverly tied in with the plot of each mystery that demand that I read them in sequence. Each book is complete in itself. But curiosity gets the better of me. The English translation is flawless – I assume the original Swedish is the same. A trip to Sweden to take in the atmosphere of the region where the stories are set, and so vividly described, would be an amazing experience.
